Living Single (2026)

Living Single (2026) is a revival of the beloved 1990s sitcom that brought the lives, loves, and laughter of six Black friends in Brooklyn to the cultural forefront. This new continuation honors the legacy of Queen Latifah, Kim Coles, Erika Alexander, Kim Fields, T.C. Carson, and John Henton while updating the show for a new generation of audiences.

The series picks up 30 years later, with Khadijah James (Queen Latifah) now a media mogul who has expanded Flavor into a successful digital empire. While her career flourishes, she struggles with finding balance in her personal life, wondering if she sacrificed too much for success.

Regine (Kim Fields), as fabulous as ever, has parlayed her fashion obsession into a boutique brand, but she’s navigating the realities of aging in an industry obsessed with youth. Synclaire (Kim Coles) and Overton (John Henton), still together and quirky as ever, run a community theater program in Brooklyn, bringing joy to their neighborhood. Maxine Shaw (Erika Alexander), sharp-witted and relentless, is now a respected judge whose love life is as complicated (and hilarious) as ever. Kyle (T.C. Carson) has returned to New York after years abroad, stepping back into the group’s orbit with the same charm and wit that once drove Max crazy.

The younger generation plays a key role as well—Khadijah mentors a group of young journalists at Flavor, Synclaire and Overton’s kids are blossoming artists, and Regine’s daughter is an up-and-coming influencer whose modern approach to success often clashes with her mom’s old-school hustle.

Much like the original, the show blends comedy with commentary—addressing issues like gentrification in Brooklyn, dating in the digital age, generational clashes, and the challenges of sustaining friendships over decades. Yet at its core, it remains a celebration of Black friendship, love, and ambition, infused with the same warmth, sass, and heart that made it iconic.

The premiere episode centers on Khadijah deciding to sell Flavor to a major media conglomerate, sparking a hilarious and heartfelt debate among the friends about loyalty, legacy, and the price of success. From there, each episode balances big laughs with poignant moments of growth, proving that while times change, true friendship is timeless.

Living Single (2026) is both a nostalgic reunion and a fresh new chapter, reminding fans why these six characters became family to audiences everywhere—and showing a new generation what it truly means to be “living single, in the 21st century world.”
