Harley Davidson & The Marlboro Man (2025)

Harley Davidson & The Marlboro Man (2025) is a gritty, modernized reimagining of the 1991 cult action film, bringing back the outlaw spirit, brotherhood, and neon-soaked, bullet-riddled energy of the original—while updating it for a contemporary world of corporate greed and high-tech crime.

Set in a near-future America where small towns are swallowed by mega-corporations, Harley Davidson (Chris Hemsworth, stepping into Mickey Rourke’s leather) rides back into Los Angeles after years on the road, only to find his old stomping grounds unrecognizable. The few remaining independent bars, garages, and diners are being bought out or bulldozed by a powerful tech conglomerate with shadowy ties to organized crime.

Harley reconnects with his best friend, Robert “The Marlboro Man” Anderson (Pedro Pascal in the Don Johnson role), a laid-back but sharp-witted rodeo rider who’s fallen on hard times. When they learn that a beloved local bar owner—who once took them in—is about to lose everything to the corporation’s predatory loan scheme, the pair hatches a plan to rob one of the company’s armored crypto-transport trucks.

The heist, naturally, goes sideways. Instead of cash, Harley and Marlboro unknowingly steal a prototype data drive containing blackmail material, insider trading logs, and the blueprint for an illegal surveillance network. This makes them the top targets for the corporation’s private mercenary security force—led by a cold, relentless fixer (Charlize Theron) who knows both men’s weaknesses.

What follows is a pulpy mix of high-speed motorcycle chases, neon-lit bar fights, and sharp-tongued banter as Harley and Marlboro crisscross the Southwest trying to outwit their pursuers. Along the way, they reconnect with old allies, confront past regrets, and realize that their brand of loyalty and freedom is an endangered species in the new world.

The climax explodes in a gunfight and motorcycle standoff on a half-built skyscraper, where Harley and Marlboro must choose between escaping with the score of a lifetime or taking a stand that could inspire others to fight back.
