Grown Ups 3 (2025)

Grown Ups 3 (2025) is the long-anticipated third installment of Adam Sandler’s hit comedy franchise, bringing back the original gang of childhood friends—now facing the next chapter of middle age with their signature blend of outrageous humor, heartfelt moments, and nostalgic chaos. This time, the stakes are higher (but still hilariously low) as the friends reunite for a weekend getaway that turns into their wildest misadventure yet.

The story kicks off with Eric (Kevin James) planning a surprise “retirement practice trip” at a luxury cabin resort to celebrate Kurt (Chris Rock) landing his first big directing job… and Lenny (Adam Sandler) announcing he might be moving back to the city. The news stirs up old insecurities and triggers a comedic midlife crisis across the group. Marcus (David Spade), still single and immature as ever, brings along his “mystery date,” who turns out to be a therapist writing a book on toxic masculinity—adding to the chaos.

What was supposed to be a relaxing weekend quickly devolves into a mess of bad camping, dance battles with Gen Z influencers, TikTok pranks gone wrong, and an impromptu “friendly” competition with a group of obnoxiously fit younger dads. The result? A classic ’80s vs. 2020s showdown of life philosophies and dad jokes.

Along the way, old friendships are tested as the group faces deeper questions about aging, letting go, and what it means to grow up—or stubbornly refuse to. The humor remains raunchy and slapstick, but the film adds a more reflective tone, showing these men trying to connect more meaningfully with their kids, their partners, and themselves.

Cameos from fan favorites like Shaquille O’Neal and Nick Swardson provide absurd side plots (including Shaq as a wellness guru and Swardson as a failed crypto king), while the wives (Salma Hayek, Maya Rudolph, Maria Bello) steal several scenes with their own storyline—plotting a girl’s trip to escape their man-babies for good.

The film ends with a big community talent show gone horribly wrong (and then unexpectedly right), and a sunset lakeside moment where the gang reflects—still immature, still loyal, and still family.

Grown Ups 3 is everything the franchise promises: goofy, warm, a bit juvenile, and ultimately full of heart. It’s not about growing up perfectly—it’s about growing older with your friends, laughing through the pain, and maybe… just maybe… getting one more cannonball in before it’s all over.
