Bone Tomahawk is a gripping blend of Western and horror, set in the late 19th century. The story unfolds in the small, quiet frontier town of Bright Hope, where Sheriff Franklin Hunt (Kurt Russell) maintains order with the help of his loyal deputy Chicory (Richard Jenkins). One night, a drifter named Purvis (David Arquette) unwittingly leads a group of cave-dwelling cannibals, known as the Troglodytes, to the town. The savage tribe abducts Purvis, Samantha O’Dwyer (Lili Simmons), the town doctor, and another deputy, leaving behind a trail of terror.

Determined to rescue the captives, Sheriff Hunt assembles a rescue party comprising Chicory, Samanthaโ€™s injured husband Arthur O’Dwyer (Patrick Wilson), and a sharpshooter named John Brooder (Matthew Fox). Despite Arthurโ€™s leg injury, his love for Samantha compels him to join the perilous journey. The group ventures deep into hostile and unforgiving terrain, enduring physical exhaustion, conflicts among themselves, and the looming threat of the Troglodytes.

As they approach the cannibalsโ€™ lair, the group discovers the tribeโ€™s brutal nature, marked by horrifying rituals and unrelenting violence. They confront the Troglodytes in a series of harrowing encounters, where survival depends on courage, wit, and sheer willpower. The rescue mission culminates in a bloody showdown, testing the groupโ€™s resilience and resolve.

While some of the rescuers do not survive, Arthur ultimately rescues Samantha, showcasing his determination and love. The film ends on a somber note, reflecting on the brutality of frontier life and the lengths people will go to for those they care about. Bone Tomahawk is a visceral, haunting exploration of survival, morality, and the darker side of human nature.
