After the events of Avengers: Endgame, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) embarks on a journey to find inner peace and rediscover his purpose. Accompanied by the Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor soon learns of a new threat: Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), a vengeful man wielding the powerful Necrosword who seeks to eradicate all gods as revenge for the loss of his daughter and the betrayal of his faith.

Thor returns to New Asgard, where he is reunited with his ex-girlfriend, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman). To Thorโ€™s shock, Jane has taken up his former weapon, Mjolnir, and gained the powers of Thor, becoming the Mighty Thor. However, Jane is secretly battling terminal cancer, and her transformation comes at great personal cost. Together, they team up with Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and Korg (Taika Waititi) to stop Gorr’s destructive mission.

The group seeks help from other gods, traveling to Omnipotence City to request Zeus (Russell Crowe) to raise an army. However, Zeus dismisses their pleas, forcing Thor and his team to steal Zeusโ€™s Thunderbolt to use as a weapon. As they face Gorr and his shadow creatures, the heroes uncover his plan to reach the cosmic entity Eternity, which can grant him a wish to eliminate all gods.

In the final showdown, Thor and Jane confront Gorr in the realm of Eternity. Thor inspires Gorr to reconsider his vengeance by showing him the power of love and urging him to use his wish to revive his daughter instead of destroying the gods. Jane sacrifices herself, using her powers to help defeat Gorr. Gorrโ€™s daughter is resurrected, and Thor promises to care for her after Gorr’s death. The film concludes with Thor embracing his role as a protector and father figure, raising Gorr’s daughter while continuing his heroic adventures.
