In Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998), Laurie Strode has faked her death and now lives under the name Keri Tate. She works as a headmistress at a private school while struggling with the trauma of her past. Despite trying to move on, she remains haunted by the fear that Michael Myers will return. On Halloween night, her worst nightmare comes true when Michael finds her and enters the school.
As Michael begins his killing spree, panic spreads. He hunts down students and staff, leaving bodies behind. Laurie realizes she can no longer run from him. Determined to fight back, she arms herself and goes after her brother. A deadly game of survival takes place throughout the school as Laurie fights to protect herself and the remaining survivors.
In the final confrontation, Laurie gains the upper hand. She stabs Michael multiple times, but he survives. Refusing to let him escape, she steals the ambulance carrying his body. In a desperate move, she crashes the vehicle, trapping him. When he tries to reach for her, she swings an axe and beheads him. Finally, she believes the nightmare is over.
