We Can Be Heroes is a 2020 family superhero film directed by Robert Rodriguez. The story centers on Missy Moreno, the daughter of retired superhero Marcus Moreno. When alien invaders capture Earth’s superheroes, including her father, Missy is taken to a government safe house along with other superhero children for protection.

At the safe house, Missy meets a diverse group of super-powered children: Wheels, possessing super-intelligence; Noodles, who can stretch his body; Ojo, a mute girl who communicates through art; A-Capella, who can move objects by singing; Slo-Mo, perpetually in slow motion; Face Maker, who can mimic any face; twins Rewind and Fast Forward, who can manipulate time; Wild Card, with immense but uncontrollable powers; and Guppy, who has “shark strength” and can shape water into anything.

Realizing that the aliens plan to take over Earth, the children decide to escape the facility and rescue their parents. They seek help from Missy’s grandmother, Anita Moreno, who trains them to harness their abilities and work as a team. Through teamwork and determination, they infiltrate the alien mother ship, uncovering that the supposed alien invasion was a ruse orchestrated by the Heroics program to train the next generation of heroes.

In the end, the children successfully rescue their parents and embrace their roles as the new Heroics, ready to protect the world from future threats. The film delivers a message about the importance of teamwork, self-confidence, and the potential of the younger generation to become heroes in their own right.
