Man on Fire (2004) is an action, drama and thriller film that tells the touching story of former CIA agent John Creasy (played by Denzel Washington).
Creasy is a broken man, living with a haunted past and drowning in alcohol. He takes a job as a bodyguard for Pita Ramos (Dakota Fanning), the daughter of a wealthy family in Mexico City. Initially, Creasy is reluctant to take on the task and keeps his distance from Pita. However, her innocence and sweetness gradually open his heart, and he begins to see Pita as his daughter.
Tragedy strikes when Pita is kidnapped during a blackmail case. Creasy is seriously injured, but after recovering, he decides to take revenge on those behind the kidnapping. Creasy’s journey of revenge leads him into a dangerous criminal world, where he is not afraid to sacrifice himself to fulfill his promise to protect the girl.
The film not only impresses with dramatic action scenes but also an emotional story about love, redemption and loyalty.
