Outlaws and Angels (2016) is a gritty Western thriller that explores themes of violence, revenge, and morality. Directed by JT Mollner, the film is set in the late 1800s and opens with a brutal bank robbery led by Henry (Chad Michael Murray), a cold and calculating outlaw. Along with his gang, he escapes into the wilderness, pursued by a relentless bounty hunter, Josiah (Luke Wilson).

Desperate and on the run, Henry and his gang stumble upon the isolated farmhouse of the Tildon family. The patriarch, George Tildon (Ben Browder), is a devout and stern man, living with his emotionally fragile wife Ada (Teri Polo) and their two daughters, the reserved Charlotte (Madisen Beaty) and the rebellious Florence (Francesca Eastwood).

What begins as a hostage situation quickly descends into a volatile clash of personalities, secrets, and desires. Florence, disillusioned by her oppressive upbringing, finds herself drawn to Henry’s dangerous charisma. This bond shifts the power dynamics in the house, as Florence reveals a darker side to her character, challenging both the gang and her own family.

Outlaws and Angels is noted for its raw performances, particularly Francesca Eastwood’s portrayal of Florence, as well as its unflinching depiction of brutality and moral decay. The film’s stark cinematography and haunting score enhance its unsettling atmosphere, making it a gripping but harrowing exploration of human nature in the Old West.
